The transfer usually works. It is the leftovers that cause trouble.
Modern phones migrate the obvious things well. What tends to go missing is everything tied to an account rather than to the handset: authenticator codes, work email profiles, banking apps that need re-verifying, WhatsApp history, and the photos that were never actually backed up because the free storage filled up two years ago.
Moving between Apple and Android adds another layer, because messages and purchases do not carry over the same way. None of it is difficult — it just needs someone to work through it methodically instead of discovering each gap weeks later.

Can you move data between an iPhone and an Android phone?
Yes. Contacts, photos, calendars and most app data transfer cleanly. Message history is the awkward part and is handled case by case — we will tell you up front what will and will not come across.
What if I cannot remember my Apple or Google password?
That is a common starting point. Account recovery is part of the job, though it does depend on having some way to prove the account is yours. Bring whatever old devices, email addresses and phone numbers you still have access to.
Do I need to be there the whole time?
Not for the whole transfer, but you will need to be present for anything requiring your passcode or a verification prompt, which nobody else should ever be entering on your behalf.
Can you help with a tablet for a family member?
Yes — that is a frequent request. Setup, larger text, video calling with family and a written page of instructions to keep next to it.
